Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy uses everyday life activities (occupations) to promote health, well-being, and ones independent ability to participate in the important activities in life. That could mean helping you overcome challenges learning at school, going to work, playing sports or simply doing the dishes.

Our occupational therapist at Lifespan will cultivate a treatment plan specifically designed for your child or loved one based on their needs and can target the following areas of concern:

  • Feeding

  • Dressing

  • Bathing

  • Toileting

  • Sleep

  • Fine Motor (coloring, using scissors, puzzle building, tying shoelaces, pegboards, buttons, snaps, etc.).

  • Self-Regulation (emotions/tantrums)

  • Sensory Avoidance (loud noises, textures, bright lights, disliking messy hands, tags in clothes, etc.).

  • Hyperactivity

  • Body Awareness

  • Safety Awareness
